Error when running cronjob 8 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I have installed Feed2post 2.21 on Joomla 1.5.3 along with Cronjob 1.33. If I run the cronjob URL from the web browser it appears to work without error, but if I run it from the 'Scheduled tasks' section of my ISP's control panel I get the following errors:

/home/sites/REMOVEDFORSECURITY/public_html/cronstuff/cronjob.php: line 1: ?php
: No such file or directory
/home/sites/REMOVEDFORSECURITY/public_html/cronstuff/cronjob.php: line 2: /*
: No such file or directory
/home/sites/REMOVEDFORSECURITY/public_html/cronstuff/cronjob.php: line 3: cgi-bin: command not found
/home/sites/REMOVEDFORSECURITY/public_html/cronstuff/cronjob.php: line 4: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `''
/home/sites/REMOVEDFORSECURITY/public_html/cronstuff/cronjob.php: line 13: syntax error: unexpected end of file

(Note I've removed the domain name from the full path for security, but can PM any additional information as required).

The feeds are coming from a reliable source, and if I pull them in manually it works fine.

Any ideas?

The problem is that you're trying to run a php script, it won't work that way, try looking if your cpanel supports this:
Code:

lynx -source http://www.yourdomain.com/cronstuff/cronjob.php
Or it may work with:
Code:

GET http://www.yourdomain.com/cronstuff/cronjob.php
Which one will work, depends on the cpanel version and configuration...it's up to you to test. Hope to be of help, let me know if I can do anything else for you. Best regards, Mario PS: sorry for the delay, but surelly you got the mail with the new updates and all, so you already know why I took a bit of time to reply ...

Different Error when running cronjob 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I am trying to solve a problem with calling cronjob.

Initially, I had a similar problem to martinericbailey:

/home/sites/REMOVEDFORSECURITY/public_html/cronstuff/cronjob.php: line 13: syntax error: unexpected end of file

and this was because I was call the PHP script from my cpanel cron jobs so I changed to using the advice:

lynx -source http://domain/cronjobs/cronjob.php

Unfortunately, this returned the following server error:

QUOTE:
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@****** and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.7a DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at ****** Port 80

A similar thing occurs when I try and call the script from a browser.

Any ideas?

Chris

Seems like your hosting doesn't work with that lynx -source command, but in order to help you, I'd need to see the error log of your hosting, or you can ask the hosting support if you don't want your server log to be shown here...
if the problem is happening also in the browser fetch, you need to check the error log to determine what's going on...I can't do much without that info...

Best regards,
Mario
